DOTr conducts an orientation on the Omnibus Franchise Guidelines (OFG) at the legislative Hall, Benguet Provincial Capitol.

DOTr-CAR Regional Director Atty. Jose Eduardo L. Natividad and Engr. Lemar L. Jimenez from the DOTr Central Office answer queries and issues raised by the participants who included the transport groups and the officials of the province of Benguet.

The orientation is a response to the clamor of transport groups in the Cordillera to clarify the procedure, requirements and necessary know-hows on the issuance of franchises.

Department Order No. 2017-011 or the "Omnibus Franchising Guidelines on the Planning and Identification of Public Road Transportation Services and Franchise Issuance" aims to improve land public transport in the Philippines.

The OFG rescinds the LTFRB memorandum circular which ordered a nationwide moratorium on the acceptance of new petitions for issuance of new franchise except truck-for-hire services.
